At the heart of these Japanese-built diggers is an efficient 3-cylinder Yanmar diesel 13.5 HP engine providing plenty of hydraulic power. A combination of 2 variable displacement and one gear pump deliver plenty of hydraulic grunt to give a maximum bucket digging force of 15.2 kN and a theoretical cab swing speed of 9.5 rotations per minute so moving material is quicker.
Efficient design by the Yanmar engineers has resulted in an excavator that offers both zero tail swing and the ability to excavate parallel to vertical obstructions. The foot print of the excavator is enhanced by retractable tracks, reducing the operating width from 1280 mm down to only 950mm, so it will fit through narrow gaps. Damage to concrete pathways and gardens is reduced with the Yanmar’s rubber tracks.
The Yanmar ViO17 digger range has an excellent working range, with a maximum digging reach of 3690mm, maximum digging depth of 2200mm and a respectable dump height of 2630mm, well within the reach of most dump trucks.
This versatile machine is offered for half day hire period (or longer) and comes with three standard buckets plus the dozer blade, ready to go on a dedicated dual-axle trailer. The gross weight of just under 2500kg for the excavator / trailer combo usually falls within the towing limits of most large vehicles and 4WD’s. We can also arrange for site delivery within the Marlborough region.
